Snook Bank 2a

View through Europeana Collections
Outcrop identified from Beckensall Archive photographs, but part of rock with cup is difficult to reconcile with the Archive drawing, in both its size and the carvings illustrated. The Archive description is of a 'small slab'. It is possible that the illustrated panel is a different, turf-covered part of either this outcrop, or a separate panel in the vicinity which can't now be found.Clear cup, probably artificial, under turf on north east part of outcrop, enclosed by an oval groove. Three parallel grooves at south end of outcrop are possibly mechanical damage.
