[Lilin: And look at our eyes...].
View through Europeana Collections
An un divided postcard containing a reproduction from an illustration by the Jewish artist E.M. Lilien, which was painted specifically in honor of the 5th Zionist Congress held in Basel in 1902. Under the illustration, a short text was printed in Yiddish, dotted, containing a kind of "picture midrash". The postcard mentioned the name of the publisher, Benjamin Teflitsky, his address in Warsaw, as well as the date of approval of Russian censorship for printing: July 27, 1902. On the back of the postcard was a Star of David with the word "Zion" in it. This postcard was produced, presumably, on the occasion of the Fifth Zionist Congress. The postcard was not in use.
