Horse and Groom

View through Harvard Museums
Set against a rocky and barren landscape, a groom and his horseman run across the foreground. The horse is blue-gray with white spots and a dark tail and mane. Its mouth is agape and its tail is tied in a knot. It bears a muzzle, reins, a saddle, and a red and green saddle blanket. The horse is in full gallop. Running along the far side of the horse is the groom. He wears a pink shirt and bears a mustache and some facial hair. The speed at which the horse and groom are running is indicated by the position of the former’s legs and the latter holding onto his slipping turban.
