ON STYLISTIC WORKS OF POGHOS POGHOSYAN

Armenian linguist P. Poghosyan is known for his multi-content scientific activity. He has a great contribution, especially in the field of stylistics. Poghosyan’s intense philological activity began in the 1980s and 1990s, when he published “The Basics of Speech Culture and Stylistics”. The great linguist had a wide range of scientific interests. He referred to the ancient Greek and Roman stylistic thoughts, which occupied their unique place in the works of Armenian linguists (L. Yezekyan, Y. Avetisyan, T. Shahverdyan). Poghosyan studied the structural features of speech, the communication, the argument and so on. He presented in detail the means of the imaging-expression system, which are used in units of all levels of the language. The linguist also revealed stylistic possibilities. We have studied the works authored by P. Poghosyan the provisions in various researches, which are a certain contribution to stylistics. We mainly discussed the questions, approaches of the author, which made a certain contribution to the study of the issue, developed and enriched stylistics thoughts. We carried out a comparison of theoretical provisions and a summary analysis.
