Victim and Violence: Bataille versus Nietzsche

The chapter provides an insight into the notions of victim, violence and the sacred in Bataille’s thought. Most importantly as concerns the victim, Bataille’s approach is shown to be very different form that of Nietzsche, for whom victim and ressentiment are linked together.
