W artykule poruszono kwestię zmian zachodzących w organizmie ludzkim na skutek wykonywania obowiązków zawodowych w niestandardowych godzinach, w trybie pracy zmianowej oraz nocnej. Opisano, jak deficyty snu i jego zaburzenia mogą oddziaływać na procesy fizjologiczne i potęgować niezdrowe nawyki oraz zachowania pracowników. Przedstawiono również wiele działań, których wprowadzenie w życie pozwala na łagodzenie negatywnych skutków pracy zmianowej i zachowanie dobrej jakości snu.
