AbstractData from manufacturing processes may often come from nonnormal distributions. Process capability indices for nonnormal distributions have attracted much research in the last 20 years. This paper presents process capability indices for nonnormal distributions and reviews various approaches to deal with the problem of nonnormality in evaluating process capability.
