Notary instrument of the Basel notary Johannes Castmeister: The Dean of Jung-St. Peter in Strasbourg and Licentiate of the Decree Law Laurentius Hell draws as judge and as conservator of the goods and privileges of the Dominicans on the basis of the inscribed document of the bishop Albrecht of Strasbourg (Zabern, 1490 January 1), in which he was informed by the bull Pope John 'XXII. (Avignon, 1319 April 26; Urk. Lehmann 266 [→ http://digi.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/diglit/lehm266]) delegated authority to protect the rights and privileges of the Dominican Order and to intervene against the beaches and pursuers of the Order because of the overcrowding with official transactions of the Strasbourg Dompropst, the provost of Jung-St. Peter, the Scholaster and Cantor of St. Thomas to Strasbourg, the Columban (?) of Basel, the treasurer of St. Peter in Basel, the provost of St. German and the provost of St. Guido in Speyer as well as the treasurer of the monastery of Wimpfen in the valley, said persons responsible. As witnesses of the notary instrument appear: from Strasbourg Stefan Müller and from Basel Wilhelm LangZeugen; announcement of the seal of the exhibitor.
