Chuck Close, "Red Wine Grapes"

These are the extraordinary last prints made by Chuck Close. The Red Wine Grapes are the culmination of Close's continuing analysis of flora and fruit as subject matter using large format daguerroptype as a tool and source. These particular prints are signifigant as they approximate the giant scale of the hyper real portraits that Close is known for. These prints made in a small edition of 5 were the last editions that Close made before his passing.
