Ten portraits with MEPs in round frames with names, landscapes or counties and age recorded during each portrait and with the Speaker in the middle. G: Runemark’s expense af Johan Snack. etc. Tavlan has belonged to the estate Ingetorp in Solberga sn, Kungälv’s kn, and depicts the bl. a Speaker of the Peasants Lars Torbjörnsson (1719 - 1786), owner of the farm 1778. Under his portrait is written: Lars Torbiornsson from Bohus County 60 years for this spokesman at the end of the 1769 Riksdag On this occasion, the same copper engraving was also produced with chest pictures of “The Fathers of the Riddership and Adeln...,” “The Fathers of the Priest...” and “The Fathers of the Mayor at Gustav IV Adolf’s Baptism on 10 November 1778.” Compare the corresponding copper engraving in the National Museum collections; NMG 441/1882 (1 ex). Artist is Anders or Andreas, Eklund or Ekelund, ca 1737-1802; active in Stockholm. About the engraver Johan Snack, the following information is available in the Nordic Family Book, Owl Edition: Snack, Johan, Copper knitter 1756, d. 1788 (?) [probably died 1787], pupil af Floding and the Academy of Arts, carried out a variety of work in the service of the book illustration, all of them relatively mediocre species, äfvensom some particular leaves of slightly higher value. Among the latter may be mentioned: View of Stockholm from Lake Saltsjö (1783). To the better af his portrait hear Kr. E. Reuterholm and Linnaeus (1774), but hardly Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf’s Fathers (1778) and Gustaf III (after Roslin 1779). Af the former, for his rarity, can be noticed Samling af Swedish Army uniforms, signed by C. G. Roos (1783). S. was a rather skilled portraitist in engravings.
