Endodontics at the Bio-Futuristic Frontier: Integrating High-Resolution Imaging, Regenerative Therapies, and Nanotechnology for Next-Generation Care

View through CrossRef
Introduction: Endodontics now stands at the forefront of a transformative era, where ultramodern imaging, regenerative methodologies, and nanotechnology-driven interventions reshape both clinical practice and patient outcomes. Advanced imaging modalities, such as Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), deliver unprecedented diagnostic clarity, facilitating precise canal negotiation and reducing procedural complexity. Concurrently, bioactive sealing materials and regenerative therapies, including the strategic application of stem cells and growth factors, herald a shift toward biologically driven treatment paradigms. Yet, perhaps most revolutionary is the rise of nanotechnology, where nanoparticles and nanofibers transcend traditional material limitations to deliver enhanced antimicrobial properties, optimized drug delivery, and superior sealing capabilities. Types of studies: This narrative review synthesizes insights from an extensive range of investigations, encompassing systematic reviews, observational and experimental studies, randomized controlled trials, and in vitro experiments. Results: Current evidence underscores the synergistic impact of integrating state-of-the-art imaging, regenerative approaches, and nano-engineered materials. Nanoparticles embedded in sealers and scaffolds improve mechanical strength and antimicrobial efficacy, while nanoporous carriers enable targeted, sustained release of therapeutic agents. These combined strategies reinforce structural integrity, enhance tissue regeneration, and elevate long-term treatment outcomes. Conclusion: By harnessing the latest advances in imaging, regenerative sciences, and especially nanotechnology, endodontics is evolving into a more biologically attuned and patient-centric discipline, poised to realize unprecedented standards of precision, durability, and comfort.
