Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha, Jewish
View through CrossRef
AbstractThe terms “Apocrypha” and “Pseudepigrapha” have both been used loosely to designate collections of ancient Jewish books that are similar to the biblical books in content, language, and form but have not been unanimously accepted into the biblical canons. Since the lack of a clear definition has led to some confusion, it is important first to define each term and then to discuss the literature it subsumes.
