Il contributo esamina il destino degli ex OP in Italia dopo il processo di dismissione in relazione alle condizioni di conservazione e alle destinazioni d’uso, nonché nei confronti della conservazione della memoria. Le stesse problematiche sono affrontate a scala europea in tre esempi relativi alla Francia (Manicomio di Bron, vicino Lione), all’Inghilterra (Oxford County Lunatic Asylum di Littlemore, Oxford), e Germania (Manicomio di Illenau, Achern), evidenziando la diversità di soluzioni.
