Conjugative pili.

View through CrossRef
AbstractThis chapter provides an overview of the biogenesis, structure and biological functions of conjugative pili. The discussion will focus mainly on the 2 more extensively characterized pili, F-pili elaborated by the Escherichia coli F plasmid and P-pili produced by E. coli plasmids of the P, N or W incompatibility (Inc) groups and the Agrobacterium tumefaciens VirB/VirD4 T-DNA transfer system.
