Il s’agit de l’analyse du « Preambule du translateur, touchant la noblesse, grace, et tresancienne dignité de la langue françoise » du Livre de la police humaine inséré par Jehan Le Blond à partir de la deuxième édition enrichie de sa traduction des traités de Francesco Patrizi et d’Érasme élaborés par Gilles d’Aurigny. Après une entrée en matière inspirée de quelques citations de l’humaniste hollandais à propos de la langue, le traducteur entreprend une défense de la noblesse et de la dignité du français sur la base de ses origines mythiques telles qu’elles sont exposées dans les Illustrations de Gaule et Singularités de Troie de Jean Lemaire de Belges et le Champ Fleury de Geoffroy Tory. Le préambule se clôt sur une défense des traductions.
