Numerical Modelling and Comparative Analysis of Novel and Traditional Static Mixers for Single and Multiphase Fluid Mixing

Static mixers are widely used for industrial mixing due to their efficiency and low maintenance. This research explored the performance of Filblast static mixer, and two novel mixer designs in comparison to commercial mixers, focusing on single-phase and multiphase fluid mixing and heat transfer efficiency. Using numerical simulations, the study found that the new designs improved mixing efficiency, and identified which mixers were suitable for dispersion and/or thermal performance. The findings provide insights into optimising static mixers for industrial fluid processing and heat exchange, benefiting applications in mining, water treatment, and chemical industries.
