2022-ben az NKFI támogatta „A plurális habitus
mintázatai a romániai és szlovákiai magyar kisebbség körében” című kutatási pályázatomat, melyben
azt vizsgálom, hogy a kisebbségi magyarok diszpozíciói hogyan változnak a különböző strukturális
meghatározottságok hatására. E kutatás részeként
több tucatnyi életútinterjút készítettem az említett
két országban élő kisebbségi magyarokkal. Néhány
interjút monológokká szerkesztettem. A jelen szöveg alapjául szolgáló interjúk 2024 és 2025 között
készültek Emesével, aki az 1980-as években egy román többségű erdélyi városban nőtt fel, a kolozsvári egyetem bölcsészkarán tanult, majd a párizsi
Sciences Po-n szerzett mesterdiplomát marketingkommunikáció szakon. Saját szavai szerint ő az,
„aki ott maradt középen”.
