In the article by Patel and Groff on Condyloma Acuminata in Childhood, the authors state the following: "Laboratory data: all results, including a tine test (Venereal Disease Research Laboratory) and Fluorescent treponemal antibody-absorbed test were within normal limits." The tine test is a test for tuberculosis; the Venereal Disease Research Laboratory (VDRL) test is a test for syphilis. I do not recall that the Venereal Disease Research Laboratory in Atlanta has ever used the tine test as a diagnostic tool for venereal disease. Which test was actually performed in this case?
