Micro-nanorobots based precision medicine

Abstract
The application of micro-nanorobots technology in precision medicine arises from the interdisciplinary integration of nanomaterial science and technology, mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, communication engineering, measurement and control technology, biomedicine and other fields. Due to their tiny size and capability of precise manipulation, micronanorobots hold remarkable potential in numerous fields like minimally invasive surgery, stem cell and regenerative medicine, targeted drug delivery, nanodiagnosis, and biosensing, which is promising to bring about revolutionary progress in modern medicine. This paper briefly reviews the development history of micro-nanorobots, with a focus on summarizing the research achievements of micro-nanorobots based technologies in three main areas including minimally invasive surgery, stem cell and regenerative medicine, and targeted drug delivery. Then, it analyzes the major benefits and challenges of micro-nanorobots. Finally, it summarizes and puts forward future prospects.
