Since 1983, discussions of the Gentile apostle and early Judaism have been accompanied by references to the so-called ‘The New Perspective on Paul’, a trend that marks a rejection of the traditional idea that the Gentile apostle freed Christianity from ‘Jewish restrictions’. The peer-reviewed work entitled ‘The Second Epistle to the Corinthians in the perspective of the late Second Temple Judaism’, which is one of the volumes of the Compendia Rerum Iudaicarum ad Novum Testamentum series, is a collection of essays, rather than a separate monograph, whose eight authors attempt to assess the diversity of the Gentile apostle's Judaism by examining his 2 Epistle to the Corinthians.
