A study on the cross-over phenomenon of popular Music: Focusing on Chinese variety music programs

Today, vocal music is developing together with the convergence of various singing methods and singing forms of different styles. The crossover phenomenon emerged from this phenomenon and formed plural forms such as crossover of singing method, crossover of style, and crossover of gender. In China, in recent years, music entertainment programs have gained great popularity by presenting colorful crossover singing stages. The singers showed a splendid crossover phenomenon with their thick crossover singing skills and representative works of different styles. The crossover of popular music not only has a profound impact on music culture, but also has brought value that cannot be ignored. In other words, this phenomenon greatly expanded the creativity and expression of art by innovating traditional music and handing down classical music with modern techniques while enriching musical culture. In addition, the level of vocal music education was improved in popular music singing.
