El pensamiento pedagógico de santa Laura Montoya. Un precedente de la corriente de liberación latinoamericano

Saint Laura Montoya (Colombia, 1874-1949) had many facets to her life, including that of educator. In her written work, especially in *History of God'sMercies in a Soul: Autobiography of Saint Laura Montoya*, one can identify ideas and reflections that anticipate what would later be known as the liberation pedagogy movement in Latin America. A review of this work and other texts that expand uponor discuss her pedagogical thought raises a central question: to what extent do herthought and educational practice align with liberation pedagogy? This movement, which developed from the 1950s onward, is related to the ethics and philosophy of liberation of Enrique Dussel, the sociology of liberation of Orlando Fals Borda, the liberation theology of Leonardo Boff, and the pedagogy of liberation of Paulo Freire. In a context marked by alienation in various aspects of life, Saint Laura Montoya's pedagogical proposal emerges as an action aimed at restoring the natural and human order of the region. This is one of the main findings of the research: long before the concept of liberation appeared, Saint Laura Montoya's work was already constructing, unintentionally, an analytical category that anticipated this line of thought for the future.
