Construction and Standardization of Self- Esteem among B. Pharm Students

The present study aims to construct and standardize a tool to measure Self- Esteem among B.Pharm students at GRT Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research. An initial set of 83 items was developed, encompassing various components of Self- Esteem. The tool was administered to a sample of students to evaluate its effectiveness. To ensure the validity and reliability of the instrument, item analysis was conducted using item Corrected Item-Total Correlation, and Cronbach’s Alpha values. Based on the statistical findings, 33 items were retained in the final version of the scale. This paper outlines the systematic process involved in the development, validation and standardization of the self- esteem scale designed for pharmacy students.
