Hans-Thies Lehmanns Nachdenken über Theater kreist immer wieder um das Nicht-Verstehen. Er interessiert sich besonders für solche Aspekte von Aufführungen, die sich dem Verstehen entziehen und die sich mit semiotischen Theorien des Theaters nicht einfangen lassen. Dieser Beitrag unternimmt eine Re/Lektüre zweier Texte Lehmanns, seiner einschlägigen Studie Postdramatisches Theater (1999) und des früheren Textes „Über die Wünschbarkeit einer Kunst des Nichtverstehens“ (1994). Ich frage danach, welches Verständnis von (Nicht-)Verstehen darin gezeichnet wird, und schlage abschließend eine Erweiterung im Sinne von Donna Haraways ‚situiertem Wissen‘ vor.
