SED4

Abstract The SED4 gene is included in the complete sequence of chromosome Ill (GenBank accession number X59720}, and corresponds to the open reading frame designated YCR67c2 The sequence predicts a protein of 1065 amino acids. It has a single predicted transmembrane sequence, and by analogy with Sec12p (see p. 113) is likely to have its N terminus in the cytoplasm. The cytoplasmic domain is 45% identical to that of Sec12p; the luminal domain of Sed4p is considerably larger than that of Sec12p, and does not show significant homology to it.
