New aspects in harmonization of the law of the Republic of Moldova on trademarks with the principles and standards of the European Union

The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the legal protection of trademarks of the state of the Republic of Moldova through the prism of association with the European Union. The emphasis is on the harmonization of the national legislation on the protection of trademarks of the Republic of Moldova with EU Directive 2015/2436 of the European Parliament and the European Union of December 16, 2015 "On the approximation of the legislation of the Member States on trademarks" and partially with Regulation (EU) 2017/1001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 June 2017 on the trademark of the European Union. The main directions of harmonization of the draft Law on Trademarks of the Republic of Moldova are explored, in order to ensure compliance of the national system of trademark protection with the European one and compatibility of the national regulatory framework with the provisions of EU acts, bringing its provisions into line with EU rules.
