Purchased by Wilhelmina von Hallwyl from the antique dealer Edouard Kahlert 1896.
Molière, actually named Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, 1622-1673, was a French playwright, theatre owner, writer, actor and director. Molière is known for his comedies such as Den girige, Tartuffe, Den inbillade, Misantropen and Don Juan.
