CASHLESS POLICY AND GROWTH OF POINT-OF-SALE BUSINESSES IN DUTSIN-MA, KATSINA STATE

The study aimed to find out the effect of cashless policy and growth of point of sales business in Dutsina-Ma, Katsina State. The study adopts a descriptive survey approach to collect relevant data. The study adopts multiple regression analysis to assess the growth of point of sales business. This research finding corroborates the policy objectives to encourage electronic transfers, internet banking services, credit card adoptions among the populace to ease numerous hassles associated with high volume of cash circulation in the economy. The study is confident that cashless policy and its component measures have positive and significant effect on the growth of point of sales business. The federal through it apex agency, the Central Bank of Nigeria should continue to drive the cashless policy measures as a veritable sustainable business opportunity that is not only capable of enhanced profitability, but also a means of cost savings. The results shows that the cashless policy has contributed significantly to the increase and spread of point of sales as an alternate payment platform for financial transactions.
