THE MEMORY OF THE PEACEMAKER TSAR ALEXANDER III IN CRIMEA

Interest in the personality and deeds of Emperor Alexander III has increased markedly recently – and not only out of a desire to deepen our knowledge of the Russian history in the second half of the XIX century, but also due to the need to understand how peace can be preserved (and in not the most favorable conditions in the international arena), effectively cooperating with other states and at the same time doing everything possible to restore and strengthen the military power of their country. The Emperor left a good memory in the Crimea, where he visited many times. The seat of the royal family was Livadia. They were housed in the Small Palace (a monument to Alexander III was erected in its place in 2017). The article talks about those important innovations in the economic, military and cultural life of the Crimea that were associated with the name of Alexander III, and how the memory of the peacemaker emperor was preserved and preserved on the peninsula.
