In the pursuit of sustainable urban development, the planning and management of social infrastructure play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life and fostering inclusive growth within communities. This study delves into the case study of Zaria Urban Area, exploring the dynamics of social infrastructure planning and its implications for sustainable community development. Zaria, a prominent urban center in Nigeria, faces multifaceted challenges stemming from rapid urbanization, demographic shifts, and resource constraints. Against this backdrop, effective social infrastructure planning becomes imperative to address the diverse needs of its residents and ensure equitable access to essential services and amenities. This study adopts a mixed-methods approach, incorporating qualitative interviews, spatial analysis, and community surveys to explain the intricate relationship between social infrastructure planning and sustainable community development in Zaria. Ultimately, this paper advocates for a holistic approach to social infrastructure planning that integrates principles of sustainability, equity, and resilience. By addressing the diverse needs of urban populations and fostering vibrant, inclusive communities, Zaria can serve as a model for sustainable urban development within the broader context of the Nation.
