Research on the Public Governance Strategy of the Yellow Sea Wetland World Natural Heritage Site in Yancheng, Jiangsu
View through CrossRef
The Yellow Sea Wetland in
Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, China's first coastal
wetland World Heritage Site, is a globally important
migratory hub for migratory birds and a biodiversity
conservation area. However, with the development of
the economy and society, the wetland faces the dual
challenges of ecological protection and economic
development. This paper systematically analyzes the
public governance strategies of the Yellow Sea
Wetland World Heritage Site in Yancheng from four
perspectives: ecological protection measures and
future planning, coordination between tourism
development and heritage protection, community
participation mechanisms, and governance measures
to address ecological threats. The study found that
Yancheng has effectively improved the quality of the
wetland ecosystem and achieved a virtuous
interaction between protection and development
through a series of innovative measures, including
legal protection, wetland restoration, ecotourism
development, community participation incentives,
and ecological security monitoring. This paper
summarizes the governance experience of the Yellow
Sea Wetland in Yancheng, providing useful reference
and reference for the protection and sustainable
development of other World Heritage sites.
