Mindestenen for Mylius Erichsen

View through Europeana Collections
The cliff block to the memorial stone for the Danish Expedition 1906-1908 was fished up from Flinterenden on Øresund’s bottom and smooth-cut, but the form was preserved. The relief was performed by sculptor Kai Nielsen on the spot in the open air and was unveiled in 1912. The leaders of the expedition were the author Ludvig Mylius-Erichsen (1872-1907), Prime Lieutenant N.P. Høeg Hagen (1877-1907) and the Greenlandic prisoner Jørgen Brønlund (1877-1907).
