Book Review “Rejuvenation and Longevity. Introduction to Rejuvenology” by Khachik K. Muradian and Vadim E. Fraifeld
View through CrossRef
The monograph Rejuvenation and Longevity, written by doctors Khachik Muradian and Vadim Fraifeld, represents an important contribution to the development of gerontology, challenging established scientific concepts of aging and rejuvenation. The authors put forward ideas that can form the basis of a new field of knowledge - rejuvenology, which studies the processes of rejuvenation and life extension. The work discusses theoretical and experimental approaches to rejuvenation, from the evolutionary aspects of life to the biological mechanisms of aging and immortality. The authors analyze the relationship between aging and rejuvenation at the cellular and molecular levels, identifying key mechanisms that can be used to slow down aging and stimulate tissue regeneration. Particular attention is paid to the study of immortal microorganisms and their potential use in creating long-lived multicellular organisms. The book is not only a scientific study, but also a challenge to the modern scientific community, proposing to look at aging as an irreversible catastrophe that can be fought, and to consider rejuvenation as a scientifically proven process.
