Sarcophagus "of the Two Brothers", named after the two male busts portraying the deceased framed by a shell-like clipeus at the center of the sarcophagus front. The relief decoration consists of a continuous frieze, divided into two levels and depicting various biblical scenes. Top, from left to right, Raising of Lazarus, Christ Predicting the Denial of Peter, Moses Receiving the Tables of the Law from God, Sacrifice of Isaac and Presentation of Christ in front of Pilate. Bottom, from left to right, Peter Baptising his Jailers, Daniel in the Lions’ Den, Peter’s Catechesis to the Soldiers, Christ healing the Man Born Blind, Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes. The sarcophagus was originally gilded and painted.
