Current Status and Challenges of Korean Language Education in Egypt

This study examines the current status of Korean language education in Egypt and proposes improvement tasks for the development of Korean language education in Egypt in the future. Since 1994, when the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Egypt opened a beginner Korean language class, various Korean language education institutions have been established and developed steadily. Egypt is also a leading country in Korean language education among Arab countries, but it has also experienced difficulties in the growth and development of the educational field due to regional restrictions in the Middle East and external factors. Therefore, for the future development of Korean language education in Egypt, it is also necessary to consider, analyze, and check currently. In this study, it is hoped that this study will contribute to the development of Korean language education in Egypt in the future by examining the beginning and development status of Korean language education in Egypt and presenting realistic improvement tasks.
