Kata Kunci: sel aki, energi listrik, charge-discharge, kapasitas aki   Abstract At this time, electrical energy is needed in daily life but it inversely proportional to the existing energy needs. To balance it out, it takes energy storage media, namely batteries/ accumulator. Batteries are electrochemical cells consisting of a pair of electrodes (cathodes-anodes) and electrolytes, these cells function as sources of electrical energy obtained as a result of the conversion of chemical energy through reduction and oxidation reactions. In addition, it can store electrical energy with long lasting time. This study conducted using a secondary battery, which is the accumulator. The purpose of this study are (1) to analyze the performance of Pb-PbO2 electrodes during the charging and discharging in an accumulator cell, and (2) measuring the capacity of the accumulator cells used. The accumulator cells tested in this study came from GM brand type GM5Z-3B batteries with 12V 6 Ah specifications. When testing the accumulator cell charging by giving a voltage of 6 V 1.5 A from the adaptor, and the process of discharging the accumulator cell is given a lamp load of 2.5 V 0.3 A. The length of time required for the process of charging and discharging, which is 3 hours for each process. Based on data obtained from the Pb-PbO2 electrode test results showed a good performance in the charging and discharging process. This is known from the voltage value per cell in the range of 2 V, even though it has been tested with 2 cycles. In addition, the value of the accumulator cell capacity measured is close to the standard specification value of the accumulator.
