De Manolo Cuadra a Sergio Ramírez: el cuento nicaragüense entre 1940 y 1970

This article presents an overview of the Nicaraguan story in its first boom, covering three decades from 1940, with the works of Manolo Cuadra and Adolfo Calero Orozco, until 1970, with those of Sergio Ramírez and Lizandro Chávez Alfaro. The main impulse of this first boom is the feeling of self-affirmation of the Nicaraguan nation, stimulated, on the one hand, by Sandino's deed, and on the other by the cultural project of the Nicaraguan Vanguard Group. From both paradigms, two different but complementary ways of narrating the nation will emerge.
