The first illustration of the book shows Lebek with magnifying glass testing a print stock that he is cutting. Hundreds of woodcuts were made in his small workshop in the Rosenweg in Zeitz. In the background, a stone press, which he also used for high pressure.
The sheet, signed by Johannes Lebek, belongs to a cassette without text, printed by Hubert Wegner in Adelebsen 1984 (circulation 20 copies).
The first edition of the hand-held press was published in 1949 with 56 woodcuts and a title woodcut in 6 copies.
