Steamflooding As an Alternative EOR Process for Light Oil Reservoirs

View through CrossRef
ABSTRACT Past laboratory work and published field test results have shown that oil distillation during steamflooding of light crude oils can be a very efficient recovery mechanism. Increases in oil price and revised tax laws have prompted a renewed interest in steamflooding light-oil reservoirs. This paper seeks to stimulate consideration of steamflooding as a viable alternative to chemical enhanced recovery techniques in shallow, light-oil reservoirs.
