Da Giuseppe Maria Mazza ad Angelo Gabriello Piò e Carlo Sarti: proposte per alcune terrecotte bolognesi poco note

Il contributo prende in esame alcune opere riferite allo scultore Giuseppe Maria Mazza (1653-1741). Tra queste, due rilievi fittili noti grazie alle foto di Felice Croci conservate nella fototeca del Dipartimento delle Arti dell'Università di Bologna: uno firmato e datato da Mazza, l’altro viene qui attribuito al suo allievo Angelo Piò. La seconda parte dell’articolo mette a fuoco la fisionomia stilistica del bolognese Carlo Sarti prima del suo trasferimento a Rimini attraverso la restituzione al suo catalogo di due terrecotte: un ovale recentemente riemerso sul mercato e la Pietà della chiesa dei Mendicanti a Bologna.
