La vis comica de Plaute de Jean-Pierre Ronfard : une adaptation libre et fidèle

La vis comica de Plaute, traduite et mise en scène par Jean-Pierre Ronfard, est une adaptation originale duCurculio(Le charançon) de Plaute. Au lieu de se limiter à la simple représentation d’une comédie, Ronfard veut aussi expliquer le génie comique du poète latin dans le cadre inusité d’un spectacle triptyque : d’abord la présentation en format réduit d’une comédie latine, ensuite l’adaptation proprement dite duCurculio, et enfin, en guise d’épilogue, une scène duMiles Gloriosus(Le soldat fanfaron). Abstraction faite du cadre, l’examen des textes montre que, si l’adaptation est généralement fidèle, les libertés prises dans la traduction demeurent très plautiniennes.
