Very early, André Masson starts to transcribe his technique of automatic drawing in sculpture. If André Breton conseidered sculpture too laborious a medium to truly capmture the pulsions of the unconscious, under the tutelage of Alberto Giacometti, the only other sculptor of the Surrealist group, Masson creates his first sculpture in 1927. We have the pleasure to present a selection of sculptures by the artist from his American period, from 1942 to 1944.
