Head ornament. A stuffed deer head worn by El venado during the dance. The skin has been stripped from the head, the bones have been removed and cleaned, and eyes of glass have been put in. the antlers are decorated with red silk ribbons and silk tassels. Long ears made of skin and sewn together are tied on under the antlers. Leather straps for tying the deer head firmly onto the head of the dancer. Acquired at Tlaxcala. (Montell 1938, s. 156)
