Pointed nose jug (1500-1525)

Stoneware point-nose jug with a broad, rounded body, a fairly short, wide neck with a collar rim, a flat base and an upright handle. The surface is finished with an iron slip and salt glaze. On the neck is a modelled and incised face with a pointed nose (mask), decorated with rosette stamps. The jug was probably made in Raeren or Aachen in the Rhineland and was found in Enkhuizen in 2011. Measurements (cm): 9.5/9.5/7.2 Collection Archeologiemuseum Huis van Hilde PNH 9536-01
