Munroe, Ruth Hagberg

Abstract
Ruth Hagberg Munroe was born in Youngstown, Ohio in 1930. She graduated from Antioch College, was trained in measurement and statistics (Ed.M.) and human development (Ed.D.) at Harvard University, and in 1964 became a member of the founding faculty at Pitzer College in Claremont, California. There, she helped to build a new institution and devotedly and successfully taught at the school for the rest of her career. Her primary professional affiliation was with the International Association for Cross‐Cultural Psychology. She served for six years as its secretary‐general, and in 1996 was named an Honorary Fellow of the organization. She died in Claremont in 1996.
