Acoustic Insulation of Single Leaf Masonery Walls of Aerated AutoClaved Concrete Blocks and Clay Brick
View through CrossRef
This paper aims to characterise the acoustic insulation provided by interior walls made of aerated autoclaved concrete blocks and clay bricks. Characterisation is accomplished by measuring airborne sound insulation between rooms in residential and service buildings, using sound pressure techniques. These results are then compared with those yielded by simplified mathematical models and laboratory measurements. Additionally, a sound intensity procedure to evaluate sound insulation was tested on a brick wall by comparing the results with those obtained from the sound pressure techniques.
