Shawl with Peacock-Feather Decor, Possibly a Buddhist Priest's Stole (Ohi)

This columnar garment is a stole made of a single piece of cloth. It is possibly an a Buddhist priest's stole (ōhi), intended to be worn in concert with a kesa (robe). The fabric is a black silk decorated with bold images of light bluish green peacock feathers, the heart-shaped tips of the feathers colored yellow in white and bright yellow.
