Short pink silk crepe aba with wood block print decoration in black and brown. This garment, a kind of sleeveless tunic, is of great simplicity in its structure. Constructed with four panels, two to compose the back, with a central seam and two in the front, open from top to bottom. \The fabric chosen by Fortuny - silk crepe - was one of the most successful fabrics at the time, as it favoured the drape of the fabric and was also crease-proof. The modernity is enhanced by the pink colour of the piece. The decoration, inspired by the Coptic world, imitates the tapestry technique used in historical fabrics. A small fretwork reminds us of the hemstitching used to join the cloths that make up the garments of North Africa. This type of garment, used in the Arab world and discovered by Fortuny on his travels in North Africa, actually reproduces the shape of the old Moorish aljubas of medieval Spain.
