Avec le décès de notre collègue et ami Jean-Pierre Augustin au mois de juillet 2022, moins de deux ans après celui de son camarade Jean-Claude Gillet, le monde de l’animation perd un autre phare qui l’a guidé depuis un quart de siècle. Professeur émérite à l’Université Bordeaux-Montaigne, membre de l’UMR PASSAGES et ancien directeur de recherche à la Maison des Sciences de l’Homme d’Aquitaine, Jean-Pierre Augustin était un géographe renommé des cultures urbaines et des loisirs, de l’animation socioculturelle ainsi que des mouvements et organisations d’éducation populaire, de jeunesse et du sport en France, au Canada et en Afrique. Co-fondateur de la revue ATPS et contributeur régulier, son legs est immense et nous vous proposons dans ce numéro une série de textes inspirés de ses travaux.
