IMAGINI ALE ORIENTULUI ÎN PROZA LUI DINO BUZZATI

This paper aims to identify and analyze the elements of Dino Buzzati's prose that refer to the oriental world, with their symbolic meanings, in the context of the author's own perspective. Their presence fits into meaningful scenarios, specific to Buzzatian poetics, which create interpenetrating dimensions and experiences that go beyond the realm of reality. The references to the East concern mainly the space, both as landscape and architecture, but also as a certain atmosphere, difficult to define. These can be linked to the travels in that area during the author's journalistic career, but they also outline existential attitudes and patterns, usually built around the idea of waiting, significant for his worldview.
